This is the last week of the Read-A-Thon. Sponsor sheets will be returned on Friday. Thank you for supporting this at home. Please remember to put your green Hannaford slips in the collection bins at Bayside or Shop 'n Save. The total amount put in the Harrington slot will be donated to our school. The Harrington Rec. Committee is sponsoring the Oktoberfest on Sat., Oct 1. The Parent Teacher Group will have a concession table. If you would like to help, or donate food, please call Karrie Cramer or send a note to me. Johnny Appleseed's birthday is on Monday. We will hear about his life and have a special treat. If you have not returned the Read-A-Thon sponsor sheet, please do that as soon as possible. I would like everyone to participate. Reading begins this weekend. Your sponsor sheet will be returned in 2 weeks so you will be able to collect the money that was pledged. Room mothers this year will be Paula Smith, Candy Brooks, and Jaime Geel. They will contact you for parties or any extras we need for the room. Book orders may come in any day, but are due by Friday. Please send any money in a labeled baggie or envelope. Checks should be made out to Scholastic. You may place an order online by going to www.scholastic.com/bookclubs Our code is H3HNY. If you would like to meet with me, I am available most days before and after school. Just send me a note. Thursday In Math we are counting back to subtract. We will have a Science review using the interactive board in the computer lab. The test will be Monday. We had a great first week. Everyone did well and we seem to be settling into a nice routine. Music will be on Monday. Gym will be Wednesday. Be sure to send sneakers on this day. Art will be Thursday. Read-A-Thon sponsor sheets came home today. I chair this fundraiser and encourage my students to participate. I realize this means a commitment on your part. It is the only way funds are raised for our library, and it allows us to purchase some wonderful books and supplies. Your pledges do not need to be large. Sponsor sheets can return any day, but please have them in by Friday. School begins each day at 8:00 and dismissal begins at 2:30. My newsletter will come home each Friday and will let you know what we are working on. Please be sure your child has snack or snack money each day. They do get hungry! If you have any questions or concerns about your child's progress at any time during the year, please set up a time to meet.
