Peek At The Week of ~ March 22 -26 Wow! What wonderful weather we have had! Let's hope it continues. Again there is no need for the snow pants and until the playground gets muddy (which it will) the children do not need boots. We are practicing making and sounding out words everyday. This is something you can do at home too. We are working with 3 and 4 letter words. (Try a few each night.) There is no school on Friday due to a Teachers' Workshop. MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY FRIDAY
Peek at the Week ~ March 15 – 19 Well, is it too early to hope spring is really on the way? As long as the weather stays the same, snow pants can be packed up. If we get a thaw boots will be necessary – it gets very muddy and wet on the playground. Speaking
of the playground, we are having a big problem with hitting and
wrestling among the Kindergärtners. Our school has a “Hands Off”
policy. Children who are caught pushing, hitting, or wrestling will
have to stay in a whole day. TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY FRIDAY In
2010-2011, our district will be negatively impacted by a nearly
$1,000,000 reduction in state subsidy. If you would like to voice
your concerns here are the e-mail addresses of Sen.Kevin Raye and
Rep.Dianne Tilton.
I am very pleased with how well
the children are beginning to apply their sounds. They are
actually sounding out and writing three letter words. We are no
longer reviewing letters. This week our letters will be Rr and
short Uu . Last week's letters were Bb and Cc (as in cat).
Many are finding little books I have in the room to read and
bring home to share. Please make sure the books make it back to
me via their folders.
