WOW! This week marks the end of the Third Quarter. It is hard to believe. We will be doing quarterly assessments this next week. Parent-Teacher conferences will be April 7th.

MONDAY
Our story today is Swimmy by Leo Leonni.
Our letter today is Xx.

TUESDAY
It's library day ~ return your books please.
Our letter today is Zz.
We will do vertical addition today in Math.

WEDNESDAY
In Reading we will make thumbprint fish for our story. (You will probably see the evidence.)
We will try the computer lab again.

THURSDAY
Mr. Elliot will be here for Gym – sneakers please.
We will have Show N' tell this afternoon.
Our new letter today is Ww. (Willie the Washer)

FRIDAY
The Third quarter comes to an end.
We will have our Third Quarter Reading and Math assessments.
A new decodable will come home today.
Mrs. Paquette will be here this afternoon for Art.
BOOK ORDERS are due.

Peek At The Week of ~ March 21-25

We are practicing making and sounding out words everyday. This is something you can do at home too. We are working with 3 and 4 letter words. (Try a few each night.)

Though we are moving on in Math, please practice writing and recognizing numbers 0-30. Many of the students have mastered these, but a little review will keep it “fresh”. We will be beginning addition in Math this week. How exciting!

MONDAY
It's the letter Ff today.
We are beginning addition in Math.

TUESDAY
Our new reading unit is about Teamwork.
It's Library Day ~ Please pack your books.
We are adding 1 to numbers 0-9.
We will watch the DI teams presentations this afternoon. If your child did DI, you are invited to join us at 1:30.

WEDNESDAY
We will learn our last short vowel sound today - Ee.
Aren't you impressed with the how quickly your learner is picking up addition?

THURSDAY
Mr. Elliot will be here for Gym class. We need our sneakers.
We have made booklets on Teamwork.

FRIDAY
A new decodable will be coming home tonight. Don't forget to share it.

Mrs. Paquette will be here for Art this afternoon.

Just a note to help with your scheduling ~ Kindergarten Registration for next year is April 14th .

If you know of a child who will be ready for school next year, please have the parent call the office and let Mrs. Strout know. For working parents ~ April 14h will be a NO school day for Kindergarten only.


Peek at the Week ~ March 14-18

It's hard to believe spring is just around the corner. We will all be glad when the snowsuits can be put away.

Please remember there is school the 16th. The workshop day was moved to the end of the year.

MONDAY
We will focus on the letter Gg (as in gopher).
Our story this week is The American Wei. It is about a little boy whose family becomes American citizens.
In Math we will be ordering numbers 0-30.

TUESDAY
Library Day ~ Don't forget to return your book so you can get another.
We are making a Gg book.

WEDNESDAY
I will be out of the room today. The children will have Mrs. Worcester for a substitute.
We will be working with the letter Jj.

THURSDAY
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Don't forget to wear green. (and watch out for those pesky leprechauns)

FRIDAY
We will have our Unit 5 Assessment in Reading today.
A new decodable comes home today.
Chapter 10 assessment in Math on numbers 0-30.

Peek at ~ February 28 - March 4

Where did February go? Progress reports come home Friday. We will be halfway through the Third Quarter.

Monday is our 100th day of school. We will participate in activities with the first and second grades. Have you and your child made a collection of 100 things? Hope you had fun and did a lot of counting while be creative.

Wednesday is Read Across America, which celebrates Dr. Suess's birthday. We will share our favorite Dr. Suess books.

MONDAY
HAPPY 100 days of Kindergarten!               
Our story this week is Hats Off for the 4th of July. We will discuss things we do with our families on the 4th of July.
We are moving up to numbers 16 – 19 in Math.

TUESDAY
We have a new letter today – Bb. Can your little learner name some Bb things?
Library today ~ Don't forget to bring back your book.

WEDNESDAY
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DR. SUESS!!
