Found Poem Introduction--1.  Choose a theme from The Freedom Writers Diary--for example:  tolerance, acceptance, survival, intolerance, trust, etc.  2.  Search the book for
phrases and single words (avoid complete sentences) that support or illustrate your theme--DO NOT WRITE THE POEM AS YOU ARE CHOOSING !  3.  Type the words and
phrases; double or triple space them.  4.  Cut them out.  5.  Arrange and rearrange them until you FIND your poem; read your poem aloud.  6.  Number the back of each strip.
