MSAD #37 POLICY

SAFETY & HEALTH

A.            The MSAD #37 School District pledges to provide our employees and students a place of employment and study which is free from recognized hazards which might cause accidents.  We intend to comply with all applicable safety and health standards.

 

                We expect and require that all employees and students will comply with the safety and health standards, rules, and regulations applicable to their conduct.

 

B.            It is the policy of MSAD #37 to maintain a functional safety program to provide a safe and healthful environment in all areas of work, study, and play.

 

                The responsibility of safety rests with and must be accepted by all who have a part in the affairs of this school district.  Working together, we can and will make all areas of MSAD #37 a safe and healthy places for our activities.

 

C.            The MSAD #37 Board of Directors policy on safety is as follows.

 

                We consider accident prevention to be of prime importance.  Accident control involves the safety and well-being of our employees and students, in addition to affecting costs and programs.

 

                This Board has every desire to provide a safe working environment for its staff and students.  To accomplish this, we feel there is nothing more important than making certain that:

 

        1.     Employees and students are provided all reasonable safeguards to ensure safe working and studying conditions;

 

        2.     Employees and students are provided with neat, clean, safe, attractive, and healthful conditions;

 

        3.     The District maintain all machinery, tools, and equipment in good repair;

 

        4.     The District study and develop safe work methods and train all employees in these methods;

 

        5.     The District develop instructional curriculum to expose students and athletes to the least possibility of injury; 

 

        6.     The District comply with federal, state, and local health, safety, and environmental regulations; and,

 

        7.     The District will follow all MSMA loss control and loss prevention guidelines which are located at the Superintendent's Office and with MSMA.

 

                The success of our Accident Prevention Program depends on the sincere, constant, and cooperative effort of all staff members and students and their active participation and support.
