MSAD #37 POLICY

INTERSCHOLASTIC ATHLETICS

The purpose of athletics is to promote the physical, mental, moral, social, and emotional well-being of the individual player.  Participants in MSAD #37 programs will be expected to display the proper ideals of sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and fair play.  They will also be expected to show and encourage respect to opposing teams, fellow players, coaches, and sports officials.  Finally, athletes are expected to encourage a winning spirit while not losing sight of the above ideals.

Participants are afforded this privilege of representing themselves and their school as long as they are willing to accept the responsibility of adhering to each and every provision therein.

The MSAD #37 Board believes that participation in interscholastic athletics is a privilege.

All young men and women who wish to take advantage of the interscholastic programs should make certain that they are well aware of the code of conduct, Board policy, and other obligations that they are assuming before deciding to become a participant.  It is also the parents’ responsibility to understand the student’s obligations and to do their part to assure compliance.

We look forward to a strong interscholastic athletic program this year.  We will be choosing our teams from among students who are committed to our program, academic standards, amenable to instruction, and who are good school and community citizens both in and out of season.
