NHS's Tracie Martin receives top teacher award. PDF Print E-mail

For 28 years Tracie Martin has been teaching physical education at Narraguagus High School, and on November 4th she was named the 2013-2014 Maine High School Physical Education Teacher of the Year.  Tracie Martin believes it is her job to give each and every student the opportunity to develop leadership skills, cooperation, trust, honesty, responsibility, sportsmanship, and respect. With team building activities and a ropes course, Narraguagus High School students are able to experience first hand how important it is to work together as a group, to make collaborative decisions, and to depend on one another. By exposing her students to diverse activities such as canoeing, kayaking, biking, hiking, rollerblading, fly fishing, cross country skiing, and more, Tracie Martin encourages students to develop a life long passion for being active.  Congratulations Mrs. Martin. You make us very proud!
