The last time the Milbridge Tigers faced off against Jonesport was in last year's championship game.  A sunny day at the end of Summer and good field conditions were in store for one of the friendliest rivalries in Downeast Maine athletics.

Captained by midfielder Braydin Kennedy, the Tigers quickly put 5 goals on the board in the 1st half.  It was clear the dynamic Milbridge attack will continue to be a force for years to come, as 6th grader Sergio Osviel Perez Garcia began the tally by finding space for a through ball to Edgar Paniagua Ortiz for the game's opening goal (1-0).  7th grader Ryan Pantoja Medina's endless pursuit of the ball caused the turnover, leading him to drive a shot into the upper right corner of the net for the 2-0 advantage.  A Braydin cross to Edgar for the strong finish to the lower left corner made the score 3-0, followed by a Jose Paniagua Castro blast from outside the box to make it 4-0.  A strong Braydin solo effort to the upper right side would cap off the 5 goal route.

Jonesport would get on the board at the end of the half as #4, who ended up scoring 4 goals on the day, put the ball in the net (5-1).

Milbridge went back to business in the second half, with consecutive goals by Edgar, Jose, and Ryan to give the Tigers an 8-1 lead, with assists by Braydin and Jose.

Jonesport found their way on the score sheet 3 more times in the game, all courtesy of #4.

Milbridge would tack on 2 more goals by Braydin to drive their tally to 10.  Put this one in the books with a final score of 10-4.

Coach Matt would like to shout out players Jose, Ryan, Braydin, Joselyn Lara, Max Matthews, Anthony Castro, and Kaylie Paniagua-Ruiz for running the full 60 minutes of the game! This is quite the achievement for a team only two games into the season.  The entire Milbridge offensive attack took home Player(s) of the Game honors, with hat tricks by both Edgar and Braydin.
