Junior high basketball season begins today with practices! The boy's team will practice from 3:00-4:30 and the girl's team will practice from 4:30-6:00. The student council sponsored a poster contest for students in grades 2-6 during safety week. These students were the winners and were awarded a bag full of awesome prizes that promote saying no to drugs, anti-bullying and good safety habits. The grades K,1 and 2 boys won first place in the championship meet as did our grades 3,4 and 5 boys! We had several top ten runners in the girl's and boy's groups as well as the first place runner in the grades 6-8 boy's category. D.W. Merritt has 37 runners on the Cross Country Team that is coached by Ms. Donna Raineri and Ms. Wren Wakeman. The team did a fantastic job at the first meet on Sept. 11!
